Newsletter No. 21 August 10, 2022 Yesterday, the day finally arrived! I mapped out a local route of some 13.5 miles with mostly right hand turns, no traffic lights, and only a couple stop signs. After firing up the Red One for the first time in too long (started on the first crank!), I geared Read more »
Blog
Below you will find what amounts to a historical diary of key events during my journey with respect to researching C.K. Shepherd and restoring my own 1919 Henderson. Many of the posts have been “backdated” to give a true indication as to just how long I have been at this. This blog, and even the whole web site, employs an RSS feed function that allows you to “subscribe” to updates that will automatically appear as menu choices on your web browser. Look for the little thing that looks like a WiFi signal indicator and click on that.

How I Found C.K. Shepherd’s Son
My attempts to research and discover any archival details (original manuscript, photos, etc.) from C.K. Shepherd’s 1922 book, Across America by Motor-Cycle, were stymied for years because I could not discover his full name. Ultimately, I resorted to a “brute force” approach. I logged into the WWI military records section of The National Archives in Read more »
